10-day event to celebrate the season, obtain limited-edition items

Hong Kong – December 18, 2009: Sanrio Digital announced today that Hello Kitty Online (www.hellokittyonline.com), the official online game of Hello Kitty, is hosting a global in-game event to celebrate the holiday season. Beginning December 18, 2009, “Hello Kitty’s Holiday Capers & Celebrations” offers players of Hello Kitty Online all over the world 10 days of festivities including new quests, limited-edition items, parties, and competitions.

Hello Kitty Online is a free-to-play massively multiplayer online game (MMOG) featuring over a hundred of Sanrio’s lovable characters, including Badtz-Maru, My Melody, Dear Daniel, Keroppi, and many others. Hello Kitty’s Holiday Capers & Celebrations is an in-game event held on December 18-28, 2009, which includes special holiday-themed quests. Players choose to aid one of two factions: they can help Santa spread holiday cheer, or they can assist the mischievous Mr. Jinch as he plays various pranks in his attempts to ruin the holiday celebrations. New quests for both quest chains will be phased in daily for the first five days of the event.

Limited-edition holiday-themed items for avatars and housing will be available for the duration of Hello Kitty’s Holiday Capers & Celebrations. The special items can be redeemed using Candy Cane Shards, which are earned by completing holiday quests and playing the Emote Game.

On December 23, 2009, all players are invited to Sanrio Harbour for a game-wide party involving games, treats, and a secret event.
